Initial editorial assessment (desk screening) |

|
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment by the Editor-in-Chief and/or the relevant Section Editor to confirm:
- the manuscript fits the journal’s Aims & Scope,
- the submission complies with formatting and reporting requirements (structure, abstract length, references, ethical statements),
- required documentation is present (ethical approval, informed consent, trial registration where applicable).
Manuscripts that fail the desk screening will receive a decision (desk rejection or request for revision to meet basic requirements) within two weeks of submission.
